Ruth Gamble is one of our producers as well as the assistant director. She also plays Jessica Torres and a surprise special guest in Episode 4.
Born: Near Chicago
Ruth sometimes feels weird writing about herself in the 3rd person. So this will be more like a journal entry.
I worked side by side with Shane and Paul for 2 ½ years on this beautiful piece of art. I’m grateful we all had the privilege to care about each moment together. We listened to each of our feelings when making decisions and functioned lovingly as a team. It’s been really special to assistant direct, to produce, and to learn so much from the whole creatively beautiful cast and crew. I’m really grateful.
I enjoy learning about life in whatever way I can. Lately, in addition to the creative process of Hobo Code, I’ve been learning from developing a kinship with nature around me, from learning to let songs and poetry come through, from receiving community through honest communication, from experiencing confusing and hard situations, and from searching for what helps me emotionally navigate through life. It’s been a wild ride, but one that fascinates me too.
Most bios are all the stuff you did and then at the end they say, “This person loves their husband and cat.” Life gets put into a tiny sentence. I’m exploring what it feels like to flip my ratio. So thanks for listening to this little bio about life. Here’s the quick sentence about something I did: I played a role in Hobo Code (I won’t say which one for spoilers). It was a really meaningful experience for me!
(Also, I love my husband and we don’t have a cat.)
